Self-calibration usage modes for initial capability:
- Phase-only, continuum-only
- Amplitude attempts as future development possibility
- Single pointing observations (no mosaics)
- Aggregate continuum self-calibration (gaincal combine=spw, applycal spwmap)
- Long and short baseline observations
Later Usage modes to consider:
- Support for self-calibration within mosaics (interpolation over entire scans).
- Per-spw calibration
- allowing applymode=calonly for some data to attempt to solve for those data by cleaning deeper holding solint constant
- Interpolation from high S/N target to low S/N target

Selfcal Prototype:
Obtain via 'git clone https://github.com/jjtobin/auto_selfcal'
- Copy scripts to working directory where _target.ms files reside
- Start CASA in MPI mode (i.e., mpicasa -n 9 /path/to/casa/bin/casa); otherwise edit script to set parallel=False
- run via execfile('auto_selfcal.py')
- will make use of cont.dat to flag line channels if cont.dat is present, otherwise will use all channels
- Can make use of spectral averaging by setting spectral_average=True in auto_selfcal.py
- averaging depends on frequency for VLA, will simply average to 15.625 MHz channels for ALMA
