Self-calibration usage modes for initial capability:
- Phase-only, continuum-only
- Amplitude attempts as future development possibility
- Single pointing observations (no mosaics)
- Aggregate continuum self-calibration (gaincal combine=spw, applycal spwmap)
- Per-spw self-calibration (mapping from wide to narrow windows)
- Need to understand conditions where per-spw will perform better
- Long and short baseline observations
Later Usage modes to consider:
- Support for self-calibration within mosaics (interpolation over entire scans).
Pre-requisites:
S/N < X.0 (suggest 5.0, but will test) for a given target per scan such that it makes sense to attempt self-cal.
