Pipeline validation tests

Prior to a release candidate being available, operations validation tests may need to be carried out on the VLA pipeline to identify issues with the pipeline early enough for them to be fixed. These will be implemented by running the test pipeline version alongside the production version and comparing the weblogs for a period ~1 week.

Testing of release candidates

Operations tests are run at every major software release as regression tests on the release candidates for SSA and (if appropriate) pipeline software. Tests for each workflow are in JIRA, with master tickets as follows:

1. Workflow 1 (VLA calibration): SRDP-336. In addition, new pipeline versions are tested by running the new pipeline alongside the old pipeline in production and comparing the weblogs for a period of ~ 1week.
2. Workflow 2 (VLA imaging): N/A
3. Workflow 3 (Optimized imaging): SRDP-337 (ALMA)
4. Workflow 4 (Archive data discovery and downloading): SRDP-338
5. Workflow 5 (Restoration of calibrated measurement sets): SRDP-340
