Budget | James | Need to generate rough budget for 1 rack, PDUs, 48 port qbit switch with 10gbit uplink and 30 compute nodes like VLASS ones (300K should be close). ~2TB local storage preferably not a spindle, nVME would be best.
AWS processing | James | What are next steps to processing in AWS | At this point we let existing processing run, no further development at this time.
PEPs | All | Due Friday Oct. 16, 2020 | krowe | Why do we need ssh/rsync open from AWS to gibson? How is rsync better than HTM in this case? * We will want rsync to deal with symlinks to directories (-L). This will be needed for operations someday. * Symatry: using rsync locall, at CHTC and AWS is convenient. * Efficiency: using link-dist may reduce the data transferred and reduce local disk space. * Space saving: with rsync we can use hardlinks with the MS and only copy back what changes instead of the entire MS. Staticly copying back what changes in the MS (E.g. table23) is prone to error as the dataset or VIP script changes. | dehost nodes | krowe | second set of memory has arrived |
