Background
On May 10th there was a G5-level geomagnetic storm that caused phase instabilities (as seen, e.g., in VLASS observation VLASS3.2.sb45672918.eb46017318.60440.52094391204, VLASS3.2_T07t35.T08t35.T07t04.T08t04) and may have affected data of other observations as well. However, it is not clear that there is particular reason to be concerned beyond normal consideration of phase stabilities that are seen at other times and for other reasons.
We decided to include a note about the storm but otherwise perform normal QA. The note should be included for both SRDP and non-SRDP projects.
Action items
- Perform normal QA (e.g., note phase jumps if present, but no other special treatment other than including the following note)
- Include in QA notes: "There was a G5 level geomagnetic storm in progress that may have affected phase stability during this observation."
