  • NSF proposal to assist with VLASS processing in flight, due 1/21/21unsuccessful, not submitted in time.

Open Issues

  • VLASS team will document official mosaic workflow and make available as soon as possible.
  • Testing suggests that mosaic gridder may be sufficient for most of the sky.  Alternatively AWProject with w=1 may be used.  Likely that AWproject with w=32 will be needed for some areas of the sky.
  • Anticipate acceptance of mosaic or AWP with w=1 imaging by mid-February

Open Issues

  • How to push for requirements for deciding which gridder or imaging parameters to use ?  Need an early heuristic based on some characteristic, e.g. declination, that triggers more complex imaging ?
  • VLASS team will document official mosaic workflow and make available as soon as possible.

Decisions

  • Preference is to have discrete pipelines for preferred gridder or w parameter rather than an early heuristic.
