- NSF proposal to assist with VLASS processing in flight, due 1/21/21unsuccessful, not submitted in time.
Open Issues
- VLASS team will document official mosaic workflow and make available as soon as possible.
- Testing suggests that mosaic gridder may be sufficient for most of the sky. Alternatively AWProject with w=1 may be used. Likely that AWproject with w=32 will be needed for some areas of the sky.
- Anticipate acceptance of mosaic or AWP with w=1 imaging by mid-February
Open Issues
- How to push for requirements for deciding which gridder or imaging parameters to use ? Need an early heuristic based on some characteristic, e.g. declination, that triggers more complex imaging ?
- VLASS team will document official mosaic workflow and make available as soon as possible.
Decisions
- Preference is to have discrete pipelines for preferred gridder or w parameter rather than an early heuristic.
Agenda
- Pipeline
- Status update
- SSA
- Validation progress
- Discussion w/ John Tobin and Jeff Kern regarding workflow testing
- SCG

- Wrapping up processing 7 square degrees + 7 repeat
- 43 sq degrees complete, 30 balance running.
- Can we speed up the import step for the split stage. SCG will examine where time is spent and suggest improvements
